چکیده
Figure 2. (A) Non contrast IR-SSFP MRA in a patient with transplanted right kidney demonstrates a mild less than 50% luminal narrowing at the anastamosis (long white arrow) with ipsilateral native right distal common iliac artery (short arrow). First order branches (arrowheads) are unremarkable. (B) Non contrast IR-SSFP MRA in a patient with transplanted right kidney demonstrates normal transplant renal artery arising from the distal right common iliac artery (short arrow) without a focal significant stenosis. Note normal first order (arrowhead) and intrarenal (long arrows) branches which are well depicted. CE-MRA was not performed for either patient as per physician request. Free-breathing renal MR angiography with steady-state free-precession (SSFP) and slab-selective spin inversion: initial results.
BACKGROUND The aim of our study was the investigation of a novel navigator-gated three-dimensional (3D) steady-state free-precession (SSFP) sequence for free-breathing renal magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) without contrast medium, and to examine the advantage of an additional inversion prepulse for improved contrast. METHODS Eight healthy volunteers (mean age 29 years) and eight patients...
متن کاملNon-Contrast Enhanced Renal Angiography Using Multiple Inversion Recovery and Steady-State Free Precession
Introduction: Renal artery stenosis (RAS) is a well-known cause of renal hypertension and can lead to chronic kidney failure. The recent connection between gadolinium contrast agents and nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) has prompted renewed interest in non-contrast enhanced MR angiography (NCE MRA) for the diagnosis of RAS, most notably methods based on 3D balanced steady-state free precessi...

Purpose: Contrast-enhanced MR Angiography (CE-MRA) is a widely accepted technique for evaluation of the renal arteries; however, recent concerns regarding the development of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) after gadolinium contrast agent administration in patients with reduced renal function have emphasized the need for robust non-contrast MRA methods. One such technique is steady state fre...

متن کاملOptimization of single shot 3D breath-hold non-enhanced MR angiography of the renal arteries
BACKGROUND Cardiac and navigator-gated, inversion-prepared non-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography techniques can accurately depict the renal arteries without the need for contrast administration. However, the scan time and effectiveness of navigator-gated techniques depend on the subject respiratory pattern, which at times results in excessively prolonged scan times or suboptimal image qua...
